About

An operator, a platform, and a dog named Boomer.

I'm Perry Lucky. After twenty-two years operating production systems for the Air Force, for defense and intelligence contractors, and at cloud-provider scale, I started ByteBarker to build and run platforms for businesses that should never have to think about any of that.

The dog on the crest is real.

Meet Boomer. He is the miniature schnauzer behind the shield in our mark, and the reason this firm barks before bugs bite. Schnauzers are watchdogs by nature: they notice what changes, and they say something.

That is the whole job here. We watch your platform: the bookings, the signatures, the invoices, and the machinery underneath them, and we speak up before small things become expensive ones. Boomer supervises.

Who runs your platform.

The systems I spent two decades operating did not get to go down, and nobody handed out extra people to keep them up. That discipline, watch everything, automate the repeatable, fix causes instead of symptoms, is what your platform inherits on day one. Where it comes from:

  • One of the three original engineers who built and managed DI2E.

The whole software factory, 50,000 engineers and more than 4,000 projects across every major command and agency in the DoD and Intelligence Community, built, developed, and run by a team of three. A small team that builds, develops, and operates a platform at scale is the origin story here, not the stretch.

  • Five years on Oracle's Kubernetes Engine Platform and Node Pools team.

The machinery other companies' production clusters stood on, where the only acceptable behavior is boring and the only acceptable scale is whatever shows up.

  • Businesses scaled from the ground up.

I have watched where the growing pains hit and how a stack has to adapt as traffic climbs, which is why yours is built with the headroom before you need it instead of after you feel it.

Today that experience runs platforms for firms across the United States from our base in the Washington DC metro. You meet one person, you call one person, and the same person answers. We build it, we run it, and we answer for it. This site runs on the same platform we operate for clients, so you are looking at the practice, not a brochure about it.

Bring us the week you want back.
